Erased: A Summary

Erased.

One of the best anime I have seen in years. A drama, it focuses on the story of a girl who is destined to die. The story is told from the eyes of a man who travels through space and time in order to befriend and investigate her impending doom.

I watched it while it was airing in Japan and each episode was thrilling, emotional, and had a wonderful pace of storytelling. There was a few cliffhangers throughout the story but overall the flow was maintained well and each episode left you wanting more. I could see new viewers easily binging through this one in a day or two.

Plan yourself around it and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Another honorable mention is Parasyte -the maxim-

This was a retelling of the manga "寄生獣" or "Parasyte" released way back in 1988. I won't go into much detail but enjoy the trailer and, if you like what you see, check it out!

Cheers.

Holiday Season Spending

So many gifts.

I enjoy spending money on myself like most but with the holiday season it's always a bit of a balancing act. Should I buy that nice video game or computer I really want and is on sale... probably not. Either way, this season turned out okay, lots of happy faces from gifts and I ended up with a fair bit of extra nice things that I'll be paying off for a bit.

What type of experiences did you have this year?

If you could have made any changes to your purchases what would they be?

Feel free to leave some comments. I ended up with a new desktop computer which turned out okay for the household in general and a few other gadgets and games I haven't played yet. I should have planned ahead better with gifts. A lot of last minute purchases that ended up being chores as I had to return or exchange things after the fact due to better pricing found elsewhere. C'est la vie, maybe next year.

Cheers.

Listening to Soundtracks and Installing Windows on a Mac

Soundtracks are a beautiful thing. If you ever need to clear your mind at the end of the day or just focus on a task you're trying to complete, they're required listening. I'm currently listening to the Inuyasha (犬夜叉 音楽篇) Soundtrack, as per Amazon search. Non-affiliate link.

Why am I listening to calming music you might ask? Well, I'm installing Windows 10 on a Mac for the first time, so that's probably it.

Now, the Boot Camp Assistant, I've heard, works pretty well. Right now I see this:

I'm going to let this run its course, grab some dinner, and I'll update the post later on.

Wish me luck.

Update:

Taking longer than expected, painless so far, hopefully the computer works in the morning.

Second update:

All is done and the computer seems to be working fine. I did notice the reboot time to MacOS seemed to have gotten a bit longer but I could be imagining things.

Here's a few pictures of what I saw during the process:

This is the actual installation starting after Boot Camp completed the disk rework.

This is what a 5K monitor looks like before installing proper video drivers to scale down the high DPI. It's horrible.

Once that was done, everything else seems to be working. I haven't spent much time configuring setting in Windows yet but the wireless mouse and keyboard are doing fine and it ran well on the machine, as expected. That partition will be dedicated to games and any other programs that might not be compatible with MacOS.

One tip to all of this, take your time and find a good seller for Windows; I had planned to go straight through Microsoft but the OS is quite costly through them. Instead, I purchased my activation code from Play-Asia, I won't directly link them as I have no affiliation with them but I encourage you to do your due diligence before plopping down your hard-earned cash.

Cheers.
